Does the ps3 has its own DNS address? (remote start)?
i mean i have registered my psp with the ps3 and earlier i had a problem with the ps3 turning on by iteself, i fixed it by giving it a static ip outside the DHCP range. now when i try to connect it “via the internet” it says “connection to the ps3 system has timed out” or something similar to that. and when i try to connect “via private network” it says “the registered ps3 system was not detected” or something similar to that. And has anyone been able to connect to the internet using the playstation 3’s access point instead of the router? i mean i scanned the wireless internets with my psp and that “playstation(R)” showed up right? and i chose that, and set it all up and tested the connection. it seems to work somewhat but i remember it saying the DNS was = 0.0.0.0, that means no internet right? how can i set up that access point in the ps3 so i can manually enter the dns address into that access point? or is there a better way to do it?
No DNS address prevents you from accessing any website through a domain name (like google.com) Your dns address will vary from isp to isp. There is a free dns service that is isp independent called OpenDNS. The DNS address they use are (208.67.222.222) and (208.67.220.220). Without knowing more information i cant tell you the dns address provided by your isp but OpenDNS works fine.
