Psp Snes9xtyl 0.4.2 Emulator

help needed on dejap rom snes games (star ocean) on psp slim 3.80m33-5 using Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 emulator?

ive installed the Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 emulator and all non dejap games work PERFECTLY fine.
But, when i translate a game to english using files found at
www.dejap.com, the game will not work. (namely star ocean and dragon quest vi)
it installs the patch file (around 300kb) and it says it does so succesfully, then the game ‘launches’
It simply goes to a black screen and nothing happens.
ive tried changing the video load settings but no avail
i use firmware 3.80m33-5 and i have a slim psp
i have played psx games and other rom games with only one psx game not working properly if that helps clear up any discrepancies
so what am i doing wrong? do i have a not so good version for playing snes games with an emulator? should i use popsloader or something like that? if so could someone briefly explain how to install it; i have tried the psardumper method but it just says the eboot failed to load after following all instructions…

First of all, you may now download the new 4.01 M33-2 from system updates if so enabled on your Recovery Menu. I suggest you do so. Also, I have heard patching, especially .IPS patching, are at an embryonic stage, so I suggest you follow the link below and look at the top ten list or go to Snesorama.us, go to Games and click Our ROMS near the bottom of the disclaimer. Look at the top ten list. The already patched ROM should be there.
